The “spark” of Leadership Bonfire
During his time as a YMCA residential camp counselor, Patrick was enthralled by the weekly bonfire for campers and staff. Having fond memories of the campfire bringing people together — to connect, share stories, and learn from one another — Patrick established Leadership Bonfire to bring people together to grow as leaders. Leadership development works best in settings where all are welcome and everyone can grow. Leadership Bonfire provides workshops and individual coaching to help you grow as a leader —focused on your impact and service to others.
The Leadership Bonfire Model
Assembly → Ignition → Sustaining
At its best, a bonfire radiates warmth, draws people together, and creates a sense of shared purpose. Left unattended, it fades; but when nurtured with intention, it becomes a powerful, glowing force that both inspires and endures.

Assembly
It begins with careful foundational assembly — layering kindling, and arranging a strong foundation.

Ignition
After the foundation is carefully assembled, a spark is ignited.

Sustaining
The true work lies in fueling the flames, regulating the burn, and sustaining the energy over time.

ABOUT
Patrick Mainieri
Patrick’s personal leadership development began at the age of 12 when he attended his first leadership workshop as an 8th grader in his middle school band program.
During that first workshop, Patrick was deeply impacted by the topics that were shared about people can gowing and being impacted by leadership in all areas of their life. Patrick’s love of leadership development in others grew during his high school and undergraduate years, where he had opportunities to assume peer leadership positions in his music programs, clubs, and fraternity.
During his undergraduate years, Patrick began work with the YMCA where he learned the art of facilitation, group dynamics, emotional intelligence development, and strategies to build confidence in others. Shortly after finishing his undergraduate degree in music education, Patrick began facilitating leadership workshops for a variety of youth programs both in education and through the YMCA. After 17 years in middle school, high school, and collegiate music classrooms and serving in school district leadership roles, Patrick began full time service with the YMCA in 2022 where he now serves as the Chief Operating Officer for his local YMCA. In his role, Patrick has developed his focus on Human Resources and works to ensure all staff, members, and participants have structured and meaningful experiences that help them grow personally and in the service of others. Patrick gratefully maintains a deep and meaningful relationship with music through his service with Music for All, Inc. and Bands of America, a national nonprofit based out of Indianapolis.
